Brenda and Malcolm made the tedious drive to Eastbourne, stopping in the secluded car park of St.Peter's church in Westhampnett, Chichester for a break and a picnic.

They were staying in The Burlington Hotel on Grand Parade on Eastbourne seafront, close to the pier and overlooking the well known floral gardens. The weather was reassonable but not too warm. Apart from looking around the town, they took a trip to Saltdean to meet Brends's cousin Cybthis who lives there. They met up in Molly's At The Beach cafe and had a good chat.

On the way home at the end of the holiday, Malcolm and Brenda stopped at the harbour at Emsworth for a break and a cuppa. They were parked on the quay and were aware that an exceptionally high tide was due which would flood that area and, as the tide was well on the way in, they made sure they left in good time.
