Walter Joseph Leighton Parsons was born in Liverpool in 1909.
In 1934 he emigrated to Montreal, Canada in the footsteps of his brother Bill. He sailed from Liverpool aboard the Canadian Pacific Line ship SS Duchess of Atholl, leaving on 25 May. He settled in St.Eustache-sur-le-Lac in Montreal.
Five years later, Walter married Thelma Robinson, daughter of Mr and Mrs John Robinson. Walter's brother Bill was his Best Man and his wife Lillian was Matron of Honour.
The couple had two children, Joan Heather born in 1941 and Robert born in 1944.
Walter was in business as a retail Coal Merchant.
He passed away in Montreal in 1985.
