Photograph Collection of Daniel Walter PARSONS
[Ref. Q.31]
Introduction
This collection of photographs comes in two parts. The first is a collection of loose family photos. The second comprises pictures from negatives taken by Daniel Walter Parsons or his assistant. They were retrieved from his house after his death and have remained in the possession of the family ever since. They come from four sources :
1. | An assortment of family groups and other photos. |
2. | Four celluloid quarter plate negatives. |
3. | Thirty three quarter plate glass negatives |
4. | Twenty six half plate glass negatives contained in a wooden box 11½" x 7" x 5" with a hinged lid.
Inside the lid is the original index of the original contents, however the majority of these have been lost and it is difficult to match many of the negatives to the index. Although the list does not fully represent the contents, the surviving plates have been stored in the order of that index. |
