Casualties for 24 hours ending 12 noon, other ranks killed one, wounded three, missing none. -

All reported quiet to Brigade head quarters. -

Companies of K.O.Y.L.I. arrived at intervals. -

B and C Companies reported in dug outs in rear of 33 and 35 trenches. -

Battalion head quarters left for BLAUWERPORT FARM and arrived there at 11.30 pm. -

The chief points brought out this month are -

1. In this kind of warfare (i.e.trenches,) the great dificulty in taking stores, ammunition, water, food, etc up to the trenches, owing to the few men available for the duty (a fatigue party of 150 to 200 men has on several occasions had to do at least 3 journeys from Battn or Brigade headquarters to the trenches). -

2. The danger of making loopholes straight, the Enemy in most cases have rifles trained onto the loopholes, and many of our casualties were received by men standing by them. -
