The photograph shows the chapel cloisters. A couple of noticeboards here had daily instructions posted including the names of boys in teams of the sports. This particular cloister was twice as wide as the remainder. The headboy had his study here next to the South entrance. Those doors once saw a master's (probably Mr.Beanland's) Austin 7 car carried in one night for it to be discovered the next morning.

The stands had copies of the major daily newspapers for the boys to read. An entry on Facebook by a former female pupil recounts that some of them would pretent to be reading the papers whilst actually looking at the boys. I am sure that the boys were doing the same.
