The herbaceous border
This was an important feature to Malcolm as he had a particular liking for the traditional herbaceous border. Although this started as such, it gradually developed with the addition of small shrubs and decorative trees. A Tree of Heaven added plenty of colour in Autumn, a Laburnam flowered nicely in spring and a Spindle Tree had attractive red berries.

Freshly created and newly planted. Malcolm had generally liked flower beds to have straight lines
Starting to get established. The Willow tree was planted there to compliment the pond
A good colourful display as intended

This aerial view shows the border very overgrown with the shrubs crowding out the flowers
