Wolseley 6/90
Registration number 727 GPA.

This picture would have been taken around 1960 in the driveway of his mother's house in Otford.

Archie took delivery of this Yukon Grey model on 20 June 1958 from The Green Service Station
on the Causeway at Staines. It had an automatic gearbox with the gear lever attached to the
steering column. The car was returned to The Green Service Station for it's 500 mile service
(actual mileage 667) on 26 June then again on 24 July for the 1000 mile service by which time
the actual mileage was 1926. After the 3000 mile service on 17 September that year, subsequent
servicing was carried out at Bagshot Motor Garage by Archie's friendly mechanic, Ernie Lee.

Below is the Maintenance Service record book for the car and the service manual for the clutch.

By chance, Archie's son Malcolm saw this car on television in an episode of Miss Marplem in which
the car had been repainted in black to represent a police car. He contacted the agency who handled
the casting for the car asking if the owner would like the service book, but nothing came of that.
