Triumph Herald - 508 BCD

Brenda had failed her driving test twice in 1962. Before her next test she had provided the money for her father to buy this car from the Frimley Auctions.
It had to be a Triumph Herald. Unfortunately it turned out to have been an ex hire car from Jersey and in very poor condition. It was likely that the mileometer
had been rigged. Having booked her next test late in 1962, there was a two month wait but then another three months were lost due to the protracted snow and ice
in early 1963. Brenda had not been able to practice because of the road conditions and took the test with an air of resignantion but, to her surprise, passed.

The car suffered many mechanical breakdowns which her father felt obliged to repair for her as he had a conscience about having bought it. However,
Brenda did pay for the repairs but she felt bad as it took so much of her father's time. Engine, gearbox, suspension and many other things had to be replaced.

The car was sold on 21 August 1987 to a man in Poole for £200.
