Photo Story

These are two of the mini's that Malcolm's mother owned and the two that he drove. The first was the yellow one and Malcolm just loved driving it. It was so willing and easy to drive and 'went like the clappers'. It was one of the early front wheel drive cars and could go round corners like never before so there was no need to slow down.

All went well when Malcolm was driving except for one instance. He was driving along the main road out of Camberley at dusk and nipping past the traffic ahead one at a time. He set off to pass the next car with just enough space before an oncoming car reached him and the driver flashed his lights. It was lucky that he did as it illuminated the fact the car he was overtaking was being towed by the next one along so there was nowhere for Malcolm to put the Mini. Anyhow, he sorted it out without consequence.

The Mini ended it's short life up-side-down in a lane in Windlesham whilst being driven by Malcolm's brother. He had run into a bank and rolled the car over cornerwise, taking off the door handles in the process.
