Worksop College
Rugby
Although Malcolm enjoyed playing rugby, there were many more who played better than him. He started as a prop forward
because of his height then was moved to wing forward. However, due to his running ability he became a centre three-quarter
which more suited him and which he enjoyed much more. He did find his way into the 3rd XV in 1957. That same year he was selected
to play for Worksop in the Public School seven-a-side competition at Roehampton. His only contact with the 1st XV was to be
touch judge at a school match in Yorkshire in 1957.
