Four meals per day were provided in the Hall and the boys sat at their appointed house tables and in order of seniority from top to bottom.

Grace was said by the headboy before lunch and dinner. The first of the two shown was the one normally recited. On one occasion, the
headboy did use the basic "For what we are about to receive may the Lord make us truly thankful" which startled everyone as he
said it it strient tones so that no-one would miss it. At tea, boys could come and go as they pleased within the designated times.

In those days seating was on chairs but these were replaced by benches.
