This holiday was with their son William who had rented a cottage at Harcombe near Sidford to attend the wedding of a friend. He invited Malcolm and Brenda to join them for a short holiday as it co-incided with Malcolm's birthday.
The property was Chapel Cottage. It was November when the family stayed there so the cottage was fairly cold. William went out and purchased some firewood and the open fire became an immediate attraction.
On the day that William and his wife Marion attended the wedding, Malcolm and Brenda explored the village of Sidbury to try and identify where Malcolm's Harding ancestors had lived.
