Holiday in Hay-on-Wye in 1991

This family holiday was a week in Wales. It started on Friday 7 June when Malcolm and his family visited his brother Stewart and his family who then lived in Tallylyn and stayed with them for two nights. They all spent some of their time together making outings to Llangorse Lake and walking by the river Usk and Brecon canal. On Sunday they went walking at Craig y Fan Ddu.

On Monday the family went to a cottage called "Forever" which they had rented in Clifford near Hay-on-Wye in June 1991. It was a nice cottage in a quiet location and had an oil-fired Aga cooker which proved a bit of a handful. The cottage was not far from the town of Hay-on-Wye and could be reached by a comfortable walk over fields. The town is famous for it's bookshops and this proved a treat for Malcolm and his children.

During their stay, Malcolm's brother and his family came to visit for a day and they all took a walk in the meadows around Clifford. Stewart's dog "Suki" took in on herself to chase some sheep and was lucky not to have been caught by the farmer.

On the journey home the family stopped off at Hereford to take a look around the city.
