Holiday in Norfolk in 1993

Malcolm booked this holiday to stay in the village of Docking in Norfolk, partly for a change of location for a family holiday, but also to persue his family history study of the Folker family, members of which had lived in that village.

The family toured around the district visiting various seaside locations such as Brancaster Staithes and Burnham Overy. These places had large open car parking areas so Malcolm let his sons drive his car to give them experience. Malcolm also took the opportunity to visit Burnham Market churchyard where he found some gravestones relevnt to the family he was studying.

Ranging further afield, they visited RAF Coltishal as James and William were air cadets and wanted to see the 'planes. They also visited the Bure Valley miniature railway at Aylesham.

They hired some bicycles one day and rode out to Bircham Mill where they bought some freshly baked bread. Although the area was flat which suits cycling, there was quite a strong wind which impeded progress when it was face-on.
