The second summer holiday in 1985 was a week in a cottage in Cornwall. The actual location has been forgotten but it was probably somewhere in the rural area around Liskeard. The journey down was made on saturday 24 August with a stop at Honiton.
On Sunday the family made a trip to Kit Hill which is south of Launceston. The next day they went down the sea at Seaton which is down on the south coast, just east of Looe, and the children had fun on the beach building a pier out of seaweed and sand. Later they went paddling in canoes.
On Tuesday the family took the train down to Penzance and, on Wednesday there was another train trip, this time on the pretty branch line from Bere Alston.
Friday was the day they went to Minions on Bodmin Moor and looked at the route of the old stone railway.
Saturday 1 September was the day to travel home. The family made an initial stop at Teignmouth then another at Honiton on the way back.
