The pond in the front garden
Malcolm had looked forward to building a pond which had been an ambition of his. The ground was dug out to shape then the hole dressed with sand on which was laid a butyl sheet. The sheet was trimmed up and onto a cement ledge which had been prepared to the correct level. The pond was then slowly filled with water to ensure that the lining settled into position without being stretched. Finally a layer of stone slabe were laid around the top to protect any exposed butyl lining from damage by sunlight.
