Many of these maisonettes were bought by film stars and other notable people.
An old lady called into the site office one morning to tell the staff that the walls were not vertical. She was humoured and ushered out, but when the walls were checked, it was found that she was correct. The walls were 3" off vertical so the outer skin of several storeys had to be removed and rebuilt.
