Edith Emily Smith was born in Dartford, Kent on 2 July 1907, the second of the six children of William and Lillian Smith. In 1911, the census records the family living at 1 Wellington Road in Dartford, Kent.
At the time of the next census in 1921, the family were living in The Bungalow in Lowfield Road in Dartford.
Edith married George William Crowhurst on 15 April 1933 at Holy Trinity Church in Dartford, Kent. Her sister Rose was a witness at the wedding. George was a carpenter who had been living in nearby Chelsfield.
According to the 1939 register Edith, George and their son Peter were living at 129 Langley Way in Beckenham, Kent, and Edith's sister Alma was also listed there.
The death of Edith is recorded in 1997 in the Bromley registration district.
