Ann Smith was born in Shoreham, Kent in 1841 and was baptised in the parish church on 26 December that year.
According to the census of 1851, the family were living in Romney Street in Shoreham and that Ann was a Sunday scholar. In 1861, Ann was away from home and employed as a house servant to a lady in High Street, Sevenoaks.
The 1871 census shows Ann back with her parents living at the Beer House in Romney Street, Shoreham. Thereafter no record of Ann has been found.
