Brenda and Malcolm travelled over to Holland again in April 1981 to visit their friends Hans and Ynskje. They went to visit Hans' brother who lived in a cottage out in the countryside at Ommen. He was fascinated by ducks and this theme ran through the cottage and there was even one on the roof. The Dutch name of the cottage translateed as "The Strange Duck".

As on previous trips, they went into Amsterdam for a day where Malcolm was particularly interested to see and ride on the trams.
