At the end of August 1982, Malcolm and Brenda took the children to stay at Padstow. They stayed at 9 Strand Street in Padstow which is the white painted house on the right. The harbour can be seen at the bottom of the street.
This was an ideal location for the town and beach but also there were some excellent walks immediately available. The old railway line to Padstow had been converted into a footpath and cycleway and had the advantage of being level. In the other direction there was a lovely walk along the cliffs past the lifeboat station to Trevone Bay.
The family also took days out to visit other areas of the coastline and find nice beaches.
Malcolm had taken the children's Lego to the cottage to keep them amused. Each night he would make a model to surprise them in the morning. Finally he made an aeroplane which used every piece that they had.
