The family booked this bungalow for the same fortnight each year from 1949 until the mid 1950's and the weather was nearly always bad. The children were taken out of school for the last week of the summer term for this holiday in the hope that it would be quieter. The twins had saved their money to buy candy floss which they loved. Regular trips were made to Southsea.
