Evelyn Mary Parsons was born in Liverpool in 1899.
On 30 April 1934, she married Oliver Stoakley Hinson. The wedding took place at the Oratory of St. Philip Neri, which was close to her home in Catharine Street, Liverpool. Their daughter Cynthia was born in 1938 in Crosby.
The picture on the left shows Evelyn and Oliver, known as Knoll, with their daughter Cynthia and Evelyn's mother Elizabeth.
The family moved to a cottage in Bourne End, Bucks. It was rather primitive and they took water from a well. They later moved into a council house in High Wycombe.
After the death of Oliver, Evelyn went to live with her daughter and husband in Bradford-on-Avon in Wiltshire. It was there that she passed away on 14 October 1984 aged 85 and was buried at St. Peters church in Marlow, Bucks.
