Daniel Blundell Parsons was born at 1 Worcester Avenue in Clubmoor, Liverpool on 2 November 1897, the second child and eldest son of Daniel and Ellen Parsons. He was
baptised five days later at the Roman Catholic church of St.Paul in Liverpool. He was known as Blundell to avoid the clash of the name with his younger brother also his father, both named Daniel. The census of 1901 shows him at home with his parents and siblings at 4 Oxford Street in Liverpool, and he was still there at the time of the next census in 1911.

Blundell's military service took him to all three services commencing with the army. His Attestation papers record his enlistment as a reserve on 10 December 1915. He was mobilised into the 15th London Regiment on 28 February 1917, reaching the rank of Lance Corporal. It seems that he was due to be posted to the 9th London Regiment a year later but was transferred to the RAF Cadet Distribution Centre on 7 April 1918. His service number 535379. He gained his aviator's Flying Certificate for which he flew an Avro biplane at Wye Military School on 2 January 1919.

In 1918 Blundell registered for the Royal Naval Reserve as a Supervisory Engineer, being given service number 120311. The electoral register for 1919 notes him as a Naval or Military voter.

The census of 1921 found Blundell still at home with his parents but at their new address at 35 Catharine Street in Liverpool. He was recorded as being an engineering student. The UK Electrical Engineer List for 1921 lists him as a student, having enrolled that same year. Later that year, Blundell was on board RMS Adriatic sailing to New York as Supervising Engineer.

On 11 January 1923, Blundell boarded the Nelson Steam Navigation ship Highland Loch in London to sail to Buenos Aires, Argentina where he intended to settle and work as an engineer, having obtained employment at Departamento Electricidad. His address was Florida 783 in Buenos Aires. The UK Electrical Engineer List for 1927 shows that he had successfully graduated from the Institute of Electrical Engineers.

Blundell made a trip by sea to England to visit his parents in 1928. In 1934 he married Rose Avery and for their honeymoon, they sailed to England to visit his parents then continued to Canada to introduce her to his brothers. Blundell and Rose had three children, David born in 1936, Robin in 1938 and Rosalie.

Blundell obviously settled well to life in Argentina and appears to have been quite athletic. He was a member of the Belgrano Athletic Club for whom he played both soccer and rugby. He also took a keen interest in polo.

In 1947 the family home was at La Paquita, 1266 Calle 20, Miramar, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Blundell passed away at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, London on 15 February 1965 as a result of cancer in his tongue. His death was registered the same day by his son David. Blundell's wife Rose survived him by another eight years.
