Ancestors Profile Index for PARSONS

Theresa Mary Parsons was born on 18 June 1879 at Liverpool in Lancashire and was
baptised on 29 July at the Roman Catholic church of St.Anthony in Scotland Road. The census of 1881 shows her with the family at 31 Everton Brow in Liverpool. The 1891 has her listed as a pupil at Convent of Notre Dame in Blackburn.

In 1901 Theresa and her sister Cecilia were boarding at 35 Orton Street in the West Derby district of Liverpool. They both were listed as Typists. The census of 1911 shows her boarding at 99 Kingsley Road at Princes Park, Liverpool. The boarding house was owned by Mr & Mrs McGlashen and there were seven other guests. Theresa is recorded as being a Typist at a Metal Merchants office. One of the other guests was Northumbrian bachelor Thomas William Atkinson whom she married on 5 August 1914 and they lived at 17 Langham Avenue. Theresa married outside the Catholic church which may have offended her family as none of them were witnesses to the wedding.

The 1921 records Theresa and Thomas living at 9 Rimmington Road, Aigburth in Liverpool. Theresa was at home as a housewife. Also in the house was lodger Eva Rigg, a 53 year old spinster who worked for the Corporation of Neston. The electoral registers of 1920 and 1925 show Theresa and Thomas at the same address.

Thomas passed away in 1931. Theresa is recorded as having made a visit to Ireland, returning aboard the Cunard White Star ship "Samaria" on 22 July 1935. Her address at that time was 17 Elmar Road in Aigburth, Liverpool. The 1939 register shows Theresa living at 17 Elmar Road, as was Leonard Cafferata and another man, Edward J Williams. In 1939, Theresa married Leonard William Cafferata in Liverpool. He was a retired mariner and had been born in Liverpool to Italian parents.

Leonard passed away in 1941. Theresa died on 8 December 1964 at 16 Beresford Avenue, Bebington, Cheshire. Probate was granted to Leonard's brother, solicitor Wilfred Reginald Cafferata, and her estate was valued at £12,272.
