John Alexander Parsons was born on 11 July 1871 in Liverpool, Lancashire and was baptised on 16 July at St.Anthony's church in Scotland Road.
The entry for John in the 1881 census has not been found but at the time the census of 1891 was taken, John was still with his parents at 20 Marmaduke Street in West Derby, Liverpool. He had left college after his first year and was now was employed as a Sea Steward.
Accoding to later information, John left home in 1891 and emigrated to America. On 14 October 1897 in Chicago, he married German born Anne Pauley, daughter of Martin and Kate Pauley. Daughter Rubey C was born the following year. John and Anne went to live with her parents as the census of 1900 shows them all living at 891, 13th Street, West Town, Illinois, Cook, USA. At that time John was employed as a storekeeper.
Son Raymond was born about 1901, Irving about 1903 and daughter Anna Pearl in 1905. The census of 1910 reords John and Anne living with their children at 2057, West 13th Street in Chicago. John is listed as a clerk for an electrical company. John's wife Anne passed away on 4 November that year.
The following year, John married widow Mildred Isgrigg, née Heidenfelder, and became step-father to her daughter Mildred. Daughter Bernice was born in 1914. The 1920 census shows the family living at 2230 Nagle Avenue in Chicago with John working as a storeman for an Electrical Corporaion. They have not been found on the 1930 census, but ten years later, in 1940, John and Mildred were still at the same address and had an eleven year old girl called Barbara Anderson boarding with them. John was now working as an Errand Boy.
They were still at the same address in 1950 and had a fifteen year old lodger called Lerna Olsen. John was employed as a janitor at a bicycle factory.
John passed away in 1958 and was buried at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, DuPage County, Illinois.
