Ancestors Profile Index for PARKER

Thomas Wheatley Parker was born on 26 September 1822, the eldest of the four children of John and Ann Parker of Coalbrookdale in Shropshire. As his father before him, Thomas became a moulder at the foundry in Coalbrookdale where he spent his entire working life.

The 1841 census shows him living in a cottage at Castle Green. On 24 July 1843 he married Ann Langford in Shrewsbury but continued to live in Coalbrookdale. Their home was at Upper Forge which is where all their children were born between 1843 and 1857.

Thomas was retired by the time the census was taken in 1901 and had moved to Malthouse Buildings. At that time his brother John who worked with him as a moulder was living with him, having lost his wife. Also in the house was Thomas Page, the son of his widowed daughter Hannah.

Thomas died on 21 August 1901, his wife surviving until 1905.
