William Leavey was born 1800 in Wootton St.Lawrence in Hampshire, son of James and Anne Leavey.
William married Anne Wood at Monk Sherborne on 17 November 1825. All their children were born there and he appears to have remained there for the remainder of his life.
The census of 1841 which shows the family living at the White Lion public house in Monk Sherborne where he was the publican.
William died in Monk Sherborne in 1847 and was buried there on 22 October that year.
