Florence Elizabeth Harding was born on 2 April 1867, the first born child of Ernest and Charlotte Harding of Dringhouses, Yorkshire. She was baptised at St.Edward's in Dringhouses on 20 April that year. The census of 1871 show Florence with her family at Dringhouses.
By the time the census of 1881 was taken, the family had moved to Mill Street in Norton, Malton. She was still there at the time of the 1891 census and was shown as housekeeper to her father.
In 1893, Florence married David Fish, a saddler and harness maker from Norton. It is possible that they met through her fathers connection with horses. Their son Eric Harding was born the following year and son Donald Forster on 20 December 1895. Daughter Charlotte Sturley was born in 1897 then Dorothy Harrison in 1899. The 1901 census shows the family living at 66 Castlegate in Malton.
Daughter Kathleen Bessie was born on 3 May 1902, Helen Aileen in 1903 and Florence Vida in 1906. The census of 1911 shows the family still in the same house in Castlegate.
Florence was widowed in 1933 then her death was registered in the Buckrose district in June 1939. The index to the registration actually has her name spelt mis-typed as Florenee E Fish.
