Know all by those present that we Samuel Shepherd Folker
bachelor of the parish of Brighthelmston in the county of
Sussex Carver and Gilder and Thomas Joy of the parish of
St.Mary the Virgin in the City of Oxford Draper are held
and firmly bound to George Turner Clerk Master of Arts
Official Principal of the reverend the Archdeacon of Oxford
lawfully constituted in two hundred pounds of lawful money
of Great Britain to be paid to the said George Turner or his
certain Attorney Executor Administrator or assign for the
true payment whereof we bind ourselves and each of us by
himself for the whole and every part and the Heirs Executors
and Administrators of us and each of us firmly by those present
sealed with our seals. Dated the twelth day of January George
the Fourth by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great
Britain and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc and in the
year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty One.
Oxford Twelfth day of January 1821
Appeared personally Samuel Shepherd Folker bachelor and made oath
that he is of the Parish of Brighthelmston in the county of Sussex
aged 31 years and intends to intermarry with Susannah Thorp of the
Parish of Holywell or Saint Cross in the suburbs of the City of
Oxford spinster aged 27 yearshe this deponent not knowing or believing
and cawfe let or impediment by reason of any consanguinity affinity
or any other lawful means whatsoever to hinder the said intended marriage
and prayed a Licence to solemnize the same in the parish Church Holywell
or St.Cross aforesaid And further made oath that the usual place of abode
of Samuel Shepherd Folker hath been in the said Parish of Brighthelmston
for the space of four weeks last past.
Same day the said Samuel Shepherd Folker was sworn to the oath of this
affedevit before me Wm Thorp Surrogate.
