This Maori carved ancestral figure is about 45cm tall. Human hair is attached to the head and the eyes are ringed with mother of pearl which gives the figure a lifelike stare. It now resides in Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow having been donated in 1948 by Samuel's great great grandson, Sydney Newton. Folker
