Biography of Isabella Kate BARRATT

Isabella Kate Barratt was born at 10 Albert Place in Shoreditch on 18 April 1864.
The census of 1871 shows Isabella with her parents and siblings living at 32 Shepherdess Walk in Hoxton, Middlesex. However, her name was recorded as Elizabeth K Barratt. Her location when the census was taken in 1881 has not been found.
On 18 May 1885, Isabella married Owen Ernest Roberts at the parish church in Hornsey. He was a druggist from De Beauvior in Hackney. Daughter Ida Kate was born in 1886, son Henry Owen in 1887 bt he passed away the same year. Son Arthur Owen was born in 1888 and Bernard Philip in 1889.
The census of 1891 shows the family living at Japan House in Mount Pleasant Road, Hornsey, Middlesex which had previously been the home of her parents and was still owned by her father. Son Francis was born in 1894. The family were still at Japan House when the census was taken in 1901 and the household included servant Lilly Nash and stable boy George Wilson.
In 1906, Isabella was a beneficiary in her father's Will in which she received a considerable amount of property in London and elsewhere plus the income from ground rent on other property.
By the time the census was taken in 1911, the family had moved to Ullswater at 291 Green Lanes, Finsbury Park, Middlesex. All the children were unmarried and still at home. Also there were companion Kate Wright and servant Florina Poetti who was Spanish.
Isabella and her husbad were still living at Ullswater when the census was taken in 1921. With them was daughter Ida who had married but was widowed. Son Geoffrey also was with them as was servant Ellen May Cooke.
Isabella and Owen had moved to 1 Branscombe Gardens in Southgate where she passed away on 4 November 1938, having suffered a cerebral haemorrhage. Probate was granted to her husband, her effects amounting to £15,072 11s 7d. Owen lived until 1946.
